Schools Taking Steps to Reduce Homework by jacklyn

Summary: Students now have homework-free day each week in Anglo-Chinese School(Junior). This activity is to ensure that students have enough rest. In Mondays and Thursdays, students will not have homework for that day. And for other days, there is a homework limit as not more than two hours to complete it. To let student have more rest, eights schools have contacted The Straits Times and told them they have been managed the amount of homework for students to let them have enough rest.
Opinion: In my opinion, I don't think that limiting homework for students is a good idea on helping them have enough time to rest. How do the teacher know whether how long will it take for a student to finish their homework? I think it depends on how well do the students understand in class or how hard is the homework is. In a class there could be students who have good understandings and also students who don't really get what teacher teach in class. For that kind of students, i don't think limit the amount of homework did help them, because as they don't understand what teacher teach in lesson, they will need more time on homework and it will increase the stress of the student.
